SLEEPING BEAR DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE, MI.

Doing my campfire thing at Sleepy Bear CG . By 9:30 PM. we were thankful for that campfire. Went down in the 50's last nite!

This was shot from the top of a dune. Those little ants dotting the path from the water's edge back up the slope are folks who ran down the dune, crawling back up on hands and knees.

Needless to say, we passed on the Dune Crawl but we did go kayaking the next day.

Like dunes everywhere, these gigantic crawling pyramids are on their way out, hopefully to be replaced by new ones.

We kayaked the Platte River out to Lake Michigan. Current was a tad slower than Suwanee, but water a bit chillier.

Out to the Great Lakes we go.....but not too far. Had to sing again at Sleepy Bear that night. Lots of glacial work in this area. Glad we had the experience at GNP last summer. Helped a lot in identifying features here.
